Causes of snoring during pregnancy
There are 4 main causes of snoring during pregnancy:
Weight gain. The baby is growing, and with it the future mother adds kilograms. If during 9 months it does not always eat properly, overeat, then weight gain can be significant. It is not a secret for anybody that it is hard enough for full people to breathe, especially when lying down, because impressive weight weighs on the throat, trachea and lungs.
Edema. Edema during pregnancy can be a manifestation of preeclampsia, a signal of problems in the cardiovascular system, kidneys, unbalanced nutrition (excessive consumption of salty foods). As a result of puffiness in a pregnant woman, the weight and, consequently, pressure on the respiratory organs can significantly increase.
Rhinitis pregnant. Nasal congestion, itching, sneezing – symptoms familiar to many expectant mothers. The cause of the development of rhinitis in pregnant women are hormonal changes in the body of a woman, which worsen the condition of the blood vessels and cause swelling of the mucous membranes. Breathing through the nose becomes difficult, so that the expectant mother snore.
Physiological causes. Chronic nasopharyngeal diseases, for example, tonsil hypertrophy. In this case, snoring could be present before pregnancy, and with its course only intensified.

How to deal with snoring
Medications. Rinsing with salt water based on seawater will not harm future mothers. But to use vasoconstrictor drugs and other drugs should not be without the advice of a doctor.
Pose for sleep. Doctors say that if the expectant mother will sleep on her side, her nasopharynx will be in a more relaxed state, which means she will snore less.
High headboard. Snoring will decrease if you put a second pillow under your head or use a pillow for pregnant women.
Breathing exercises. The basics of proper breathing are taught in courses for pregnant women. And you can use them not only in childbirth: according to recent studies, the usual lowing with exhalation through the nose perfectly helps to remove swelling of the mucous membranes.
Massage. The muscles of the larynx strengthen, if gently massaging under the lower jaw, squeeze and unclench the jaws, move the tongue to the left – to the right, when the mouth is open and closed.
Songs. Singing remarkably strengthens the muscles of the throat, which weaken during pregnancy. And that means singing your favorite songs for 20-30 minutes is not only pleasant, but also good for health.
Walking. Fresh air eases the condition of the mucous membranes, swelling subsides a bit, breathing becomes easier, and snoring intensity decreases.
Try to relieve your condition and get enough sleep. Usually snoring during pregnancy is a fairly innocuous phenomenon, which ends with the birth of a child.
